    American University of the Caribbean invites applicants for Fellow position.


    This is a temporary position offered on a 6 month basis and subject to satisfactory performance. Employment may be extended for an additional 6 months based on program needs, fellow availability and satisfactory performance. Our mission is to prepare highly dedicated students to become effective, successful physicians in the United States.


    This position is designed for American University of the Caribbean graduates awaiting residency placement who wish to extend their clinical medicine teaching and educational scholarship portfolio. The Fellow will have an opportunity to engage in bench research or clinical simulation or educational research projects such as USMLE Clinical Skills 2 Exam prep through Becker Professional Education or gaming and technology enhanced education projects based on interest and any prior experience.

    Location: Southfield, Michigan




    • Assist with instruction: teach OSCE/standardized patient formative and summative exercises, simulation and skills lab sessions, provide guidance on history-taking, write-ups, SOAP notes, design test questions and proctor exams
    • Assist in grading process as directed
    • Assist with other instructional activities, as assigned by Program Director, Senior Faculty and Program Manager
    • Available Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM, as well as some evenings and weekends
    • Attend training sessions to become skilled in participating in evaluating student performance
    • Attend small group sessions with assigned group of students.
    • Serve as mentors to a cohort of students, maintaining close communication with each student and providing guidance in all aspects of their performance, including visits to clinical sites
    • Weekend travel for mock CS examinations or information seminars, as needed


    • Must be a graduate of American University of the Caribbean
    • Must have an M.D. degree and completed all clinical rotations
    • Must have graduated within twelve months prior to the start date of the position
    • Must have obtained a passing score on first attempt on all three USMLE examinations (Step 1, Step 2 CK and CS)
    • Satisfactory (or better) grades in all subsequent activities undertaken as AUC student, including performance on NBME qualifying exams
    • Strong teaching skills and experience; or evidence of potential
    • Must work well on a team and show flexibility
    • Excellent communication skills in English
    • Desire for self-improvement
