American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine (AUC) is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join their team as the Manager of Acrreditation. The Manager of Accreditation is responsible for coordinating accreditation efforts for the institution and its campuses and for working under the direction of AUC’s Chief Academic Officer and Adtalem’s licensing and compliance department to ensure that the University’s institutional accreditation and state and federal licensing and compliance requirements are met.  This position requires, foundational knowledge of undergraduate medical education, outstanding written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, the ability to anticipate and meet deadlines, and the ability to work well within a complex international matrix organization.

Responsibilities

  • Works directly with University leadership managing all processes that require approval of accrediting and regulatory bodies; writes, edits and/or organizes documents to support a change request, sets and meets deadlines for the submission of reports, organizes and participates in campus visit(s) and assists leadership with responses to accreditation and regulatory agencies.
  • Manage the process and submits complete reports for accrediting agencies, state and federal regulatory bodies (ACCM annual report and self-studies, NY, CA, FL data reports,)
  • Responsible for institution licensing and compliance under the direction of and in coordination with Adtalem’s licensing and compliance departments to ensure that compliance and licensing issues pertaining to the institution are addressed appropriately and on a timely basis.
  • Participates in program evaluation that support accreditation processes.
  • Manages scheduling and documentation support for approximately 30 clinical site visits for both the university and accreditor
  • Oversees process for faculty appointments in clinical sciences; tracks current and expiring appointments
  • Participates in curriculum development projects to ensure compliance with state and professional organization requirements.
  • Assumes responsibility for faculty and support staff orientation to accreditation processes.
  • Provides guidance, advice and coaching for new and existing faculty regarding accreditation processes.
  • Reviews institution policies and practices to ensure integrity in its operations.
  • Supervises one full-time colleague and will report to the US Clinical Dean
  • Completes other projects and duties as assigned.

  • Master’s degree is required; Healthcare/Health Sciences strongly preferred.
  • Five years of teaching and/or management experience in a higher education setting and experience with assessment and accreditation processes required. 
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, writing, editing, and computer skills are required.
