    The Senior Human Resources Generalist aligns the business objectives with employees and management in the designated business units.  This position serves as a consultant in the overall administration, coordination, evaluation and management of the human resources activities for these business units. 

    Responsibilities

    • Recruits exempt, non-exempt and temporary employees within established time frames.  Responsible for full-cycle recruiting from sourcing to preparation of final offer and for the on-boarding of all employees.
    • Responsible for all immigration (work permits and residency documentation) for all expats and TCNs (third country nationals). Partners with external vendor or internal resource as needed.
    • Supports the efforts of the business unit and contributes to the maintenance of positive employee relations through support of the performance management process.  Provides day to day performance management guidelines to the business unit.
    • Supports the HR Business Partner/Director in implementing and executing the Talent Management and calibration process. 
    • Responds to employee and/or supervisor needs to address performance concerns and interpersonal conflict.  Works closely with business unit to improve work relationships, builds morale, increases productivity and retention. 
    • Serves as first point of contact with employee relations issues; gathers internal information; conducts preliminary effective, thorough and objective investigations concerning employee complaints.  Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation. 
    • Assists managers in the development of performance improvement plans and corrective action documents.
    • Works with the business unit's management team to help identify training needs and individual management coaching needs.  Assists with follow-up to ensure training objectives are met.  Supports HR Business Partner/Director in implementing and executing the talent review and succession planning processes.
    • Assists in administering the local compensation plan.  Helps the managers to determine appropriate starting salaries and promotional increases, within established guidelines.
    • Serves as the local payroll contact for Home Office Payroll personnel, troubleshoots payroll related issues as well as answering general employee questions.  Develops and processes reports as required.  Responsible for the data integrity of the information within the system for their employee population.
    • Directs employee questions regarding benefits to the appropriate sources for answers such as The Commons and the Benefits Solution Center.  Coordinates open enrollment activities, communicating changes to employees and ensuring deadlines are met.
    • Acts as a member of the CRT (Critical Response Team) or other emergency/disaster team to ensure the integrity of colleague data is maintained in the event of an emergency. May act as lead in the Planning vertical.
    • Participates in staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars as necessary to update HR skills and learn the business unit’s issues and challenges.  May assist in projects and reporting as needed.  Assures compliance with country (SXM), federal and state regulations.  Oversees, recommends and implements efficient and effective department processes for continuous HR improvement. 
    • Provides general HR information and answers employee questions. 

    Completes other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

     

    • Bachelor’s degree required in an appropriate discipline
    • 5+ years of Human Resources experience.  Professional certification in Human Resources desired.  
    • Experience with HRIS, payroll and other HR systems highly desirable.
    • Strong computer skills in Microsoft programs; Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.  Excellent organizational, customer service and multi-tasking skills. 
    • Flexibility in integration with all level of employees.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

    Understands the business environment and objectives and can work with employees to meet those objectives.
