    American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine (AUC) is activley seeking faculty to join their team as Professor (Full, Associate or Assistant) of Medical Microbiology and Immunology.

     

    Education is the primary focus of the AUC faculty. The academic year is divided into three semesters with a new class of students admitted each semester. Lectures and other educational responsibilities continue throughout the year. Effective teachers are sought, particularly individuals who are interested in improving medical education and who work well on a team. 

     

    Reporting Line: Course Director of Medical Microbiology and 3rd Semester Lead

     

    Location : Saint Maarten

    Responsibilities

    - Works with Course Director to:

    1. Develop the syllabus/course content for Medical Microbiology. Ensure that the course presents current, relevant information.
    2. Develop appropriate clinical based questions for lecture examinations
    3. Continue to participate in and develop new horizontal integrative exercises across all 3rd semester courses
    4. Assist in the development and delivery of new vertical integrative exercises
    5. Assist in maintaining accurate and current student records.
    6. Completes other duties as assigned.

    - Be willing to help cover classes in Immunology as needed.

     

    - Attend a minimum of one conference each year for the purpose of curriculum enhancement and/or presentation of research.

     

    - Maintains office  hours and is readily available to students for assistance.

     

    - Maintains robust advisor/advisee interactions and advising.

     

    - Serves on committees as appointed.

     

    - Contributes to community outreach and/or student centered research projects.

     

    - Completes other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • PhD in Microbiology/Immunology from an accredited university
    • 3-5 years of documented relavant teaching experience
    • Flexibility and ability to work well on a team
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
